Assessing spray fluid consumption correctly: why low consumption is not a fault

The bottle is still almost full after days? With fine minimum-quantity spray technology, that is intended. How to tell whether everything is working.

Assessing spray fluid consumption correctly: why low consumption is not a fault

A common question after switching: "The bottles are still almost full after days – is something wrong?" As a rule, this is exactly as intended.

Why consumption drops

  • The premium two-fluid nozzle and the Ultra-Thin nozzle atomise very finely and can be dosed precisely.
  • Spraying only covers the edge areas of the workpiece and only when a workpiece arrives.
  • Less fluid also means less residue, less saturation of the buffing wheels and lower emissions.

How to tell whether everything is working

  • Result at the edge: no glue residue on the surface, a clean joint, no chips sticking.
  • Spray pattern: evenly wetted edge areas, no drops.
  • Monitoring: the Spray Monitor shows whether each nozzle is delivering.

If the result is right, low consumption is an advantage – not a fault. If it is not right, the cause is usually nozzle position or spray timing, not too little fluid.
