Chips sticking to the edge: effectively dissipating static charge

Plastic edges become statically charged during milling and attract chips. An antistatic cooling agent in the right place keeps edge, feeler rollers and tools clean.

Chips sticking to the edge: effectively dissipating static charge

Milling and scraping plastic edges (ABS, PP, PVC) creates static charge. The result: chips and dust stick to the edge, panel and feeler rollers – causing marks, unclean edges and rework.

The right position

Lc 2/20 antistatic cooling agent is applied after the pressing zone and before the end trimming unit with the premium two-fluid nozzle to the upper and lower edge areas of the workpiece. It dissipates the charge and at the same time cools the glue joint so that it sets faster.

The benefits

  • Feeler rollers, tools and workpiece stay free of chips and glue residue
  • fewer marks and less rework
  • a faster-setting joint

Also check

  • Extraction at the flush and radius trimming units
  • Sharpness of the tools
  • Room air: very dry air increases static charge

Note: Lc 2/20 is flammable and dangerous goods – please observe the safety data sheet.
