Teaching the CLOU® level monitoring correctly

The level indicator says "empty" although the canister is full – or vice versa? It is usually the teach-in. How the capacitive sensor works.

Teaching the CLOU® level monitoring correctly

The CLOU® supplies the nozzles from 5- or 20-litre canisters and monitors the fill level. If the indicator does not match the actual level, the cause is almost always the teach-in.

How the sensor works

The sensor works capacitively – it measures through the canister wall whether there is liquid at its position. It is not a light barrier. That is why the seating of the canister and the distance to the sensor matter.

Teaching correctly

  1. Insert an empty canister cleanly and fully into the holder.
  2. Teach the sensor to this state.
  3. Insert a full canister and check that the indicator switches.

Newer sensors are pre-set and no longer need to be taught. For questions about your unit, our service will help.
