Due to the increasing demands on edge processing, we started to create our alternative to the conventional buffing unit in 2016. Since the machines and workpieces as well as their requirements changed significantly in the past decades, but the buffing unit did not adapt to these innovations until today, we developed our BRUSH- tec® EDGE, E for short.
While the overall size of the unit remains the same compared to the buffing unit, the much larger contact area of the ribbed belts enables us to achieve significantly more polishing effect with the same throughput time. The service life of the tools is also significantly longer due to the more uniform and full-surface load.
Compared to conventional buffing units, our BRUSH-tec® E works with ribbed belts or brushes. Thanks to a quick-release mechanism, the BRUSH-tec® E allows you to change the brushes quickly and, above all, without tools – simply and easily. Currently, our portfolio includes a wide variety of belt trimmings made of different materials. Our felt and felt-sisal brushes are particularly popular.
Our BRUSH-tec® E comes standard with two tools that work the top and bottom edges parallel to each other. Thanks to the flexible adjustment options, which allow the tools to be positioned independently of each other both horizontally and vertically, cleaning the narrow side of the workpiece and the edge radius is also no problem.
Flexible thanks to the tools
One of the biggest differences between our BRUSH-tec® EDGE and the well-known buffing or chamfering units is the tools used. LcM GmbH uses so-called ribbed belts (we call them brushes), which have significant advantages compared to buffing wheels or polishing rings.
The tool-free tool change makes it particularly easy for our customers: the brushes can be exchanged quickly and easily thanks to a quick-release mechanism. Currently, the LcM portfolio includes a wide variety of belts made of different materials. Our felt and felt-sisal brushes are particularly popular.
Larger contact area with the same overall size
At first glance, it is clear that the overall size of our BRUSH-tec® E does not differ significantly from the classic buffing unit. The tools, however, in this case our brushes, have a significantly larger contact surface than buffing wheels while the unit size remains the same. The advantage: significantly more polishing effect with identical throughput time. Thanks to the more even and full-surface load on the tools, their service life is also significantly longer in comparison.
Individually adaptable due to flexible adjustment options
Our two standard tools of the BRUSH-tec® E can work parallel to each other. This means that both the top and the bottom of the edge can be machined at the same time. Since they can also be adjusted independently of each other (up and down as well as tilted in all directions) and thus positioned horizontally and vertically, cleaning the face of a workpiece as well as the edge radius is also no problem for our finishing unit.
